FOSTPL President J.J. Estemac's letter to existing and new members

January 23, 2008: Dear Member:

Greetings. On behalf of the Board of The Friends of St. Thomas Public Libraries (FOSTPL) organization, I am hereby expressing our appreciation for your support and membership during the past year and trust you will renew your membership and volunteer to be involved in the activities of FOSTPL in this year.

While it is true that the Enid Baa Library, under the tutelage of Rachelle D. Shells, has taken over a number of programs that were sponsored by FOSTPL, such as the Saturday Children's Reading Program (SCRP), Kwanzaa celebration, the Summer Reading Program (SRP), etc. However, there are still many opportunities and a need for volunteers, such as the Hospital Book Cart, Directors for the Board, and used book collection and redistribution. Would you consider volunteering your service to this organization in any of the available vacancies? I certainly hope you will volunteer your services; it does not require too much time, only true commitment.

We look forward to seeing you at our annual membership meeting, which will be on January 28, 2008 at the Roy L. Schneider Hospital Cafeteria at 6 p.m. At this meeting, we will be electing new board members and trust that you will participate when you renew your membership.
