 October 19, 2009:  The Friends of St. Thomas Public Libraries (FOSTPL) hosted the first of a series of events entitled "A Gathering of Friends" on the afternoon of Sunday October 18th at the Enid M. Baa Public Library....
 September 25, 2009:  Three years ago five friends made a commitment to their shared love for the written word. They decided to meet monthly to review and discuss their work. What emerged from those Saturday afternoon meetings is the book, All This Is Love: A Collection of Virgin Islands Poetry, Art & Prose.....
 August 1, 2009:  As part of its participation in the American Library Association (ALA)'s "Behind the Walls @ Your Library" initiative, the Friends of St. Thomas Public Libraries (FOSTPL) past President JJ Estemac assembled a collection of recycled books from the organization's book depot that were designated for delivery to the the Alva Swan Corrections Annex.....
 August 1, 2009:  The Enid M. Baa Public Library 2009 Summer Reading Program draws to a close. The annual party and awards program will be held in the Children's Reading Room at Enid M. Baa Public Library on Saturday, August 15th at 1:00 p.m. This year's theme is "Book - A- Trip Around the World".....
 May 11, 2009:  In keeping with the mission of the Enid M. Baa Public Library (EMBLP) to maintain and improve the quality of library services to the community, the Department of Planning and Natural Resources has planned a presentation on St. Thomas painter and sculptor Albert E. Daniel as the concluding community interest program @ your public library.....
 April 26, 2009:  Friends of the St. Thomas Public Libraries (FOSTPL) has garnered two local ADDY® Awards in the Public Service and Cultural Diversity categories in a ceremony hosted by the local Advertising Club of the Virgin Islands (ADVI). Both citations were for the FOSTPL Literacy Project poster "Read a Book, Share Its Treasures".....
 April 7, 2009:  National Library Week @ Baa includes activities for young and old in conjunction with the national observance.....
 March 20, 2009:  The DPNR Division of Libraries, Archives & Museums, in collaboration with the Department of Justice, Bureau of Corrections and the Office of the Governor, launched "Beyond the Walls thru a Bookmobile," a joint educational rehabilitation initiative and an effort to reduce recidivism.....
 March 24, 2009:  Community Events @ Baa continue with a Virgin Islands History Month Family History Workshop and the second and final discussion surrounding "The Big Read", A Wizard of Earthsea. Both events take place at the Enid M. Baa Public Library on Saturday March 28, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 4:00-6:00 pm, respectively......
 March 3, 2009:  The Department of Planning and Natural Resources Division of Libraries, Archives & Museums is one of 23 nationwide recipients to be awarded a prestigious grant of $40,000 from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS)....
