The mission of the Friends of the St. Thomas Public Libraries is to preserve and strengthen library services and create awareness and appreciation of the importance of the public libraries.
The Friends stand as supporters of the staff and management of the Enid M. Baa Library, as well as libraries throughout the territory. Click here to for a short bio of Enid Maria Baa.
Our outreach programs at the clinics, in the wards of the hospital, community centers and senior centers are designed to show the community’s need for library services that are not now available. The former “Free Bookshelves” program has evolved into a bookmobile that makes its way across the island to enrich various communities.
We are also advocating strongly for the creation of a new library in the center of the island that would be accessible to the larger community that dream is very near actualization. You can help by providing more books and materials at the library and by pledging to donate interior furniture and equipment for the new library.
Our motto: Raising visibility of our libraries to the community!
