Caribbean Genealogy Library hosts George F. Tyson
January 29, 2009: Please plan to attend the Caribbean Genealogy Library's Annual Membership Meeting on Sunday, February 1, 2009, at 3:00p at UVI's Administration and Conference Center (the former Harvey Student Center) on the St. Thomas Campus.
St. Croix historian George F. Tyson will be the featured guest speaker, delivering a fascinating presentation and update on the St. Croix African Roots Project (SCARP). The SCARP database now contains over a million entries, and will be of inestimable value to researchers both locally and worldwide in tracing family ties. Come see a live demo of its search capabilities!
The general public as well as CGL members are invited to attend this very special meeting, and to hear more about the Caribbean Genealogy Library's plans to support family history and local history research for 2009. Light refreshments will be served.
A copy of The Caribbean Genealogy Library Newsletter may be downloaded for your reading pleasure. The membership of the Caribbean Genealogy Library looks forward to seeing you. Visit the Caribbean Genealogy Library's Rootsweb page at http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~vicgl/
