The Friends of the St. Thomas Public Libraries (FOSTPL) will host its Annual Meeting on Sunday, January 29 at 4pm in the Sun Room of the Schneider Regional Medical Center. Program updates, membership renewal and election of FOSTPL Board members will be held; light refreshments will be served. On Saturday, December 31st, I'm asking everyone to join us in encouraging our local students initial correspondence to youth in Ghana by way of Skype (if possible on that day) and/or writing letters/creating arts and crafts, including their pictures and sending them in the mail on the same day as we plan to be in the Emancipation Garden/Natural Livity for this activity: Natural Livity/Emancipation Garden 12/31/11 from 11:00 am—3:00 pm.

solimageFB The Friends of the St. Thomas Public Libraries (FOSTPL) plans to celebrate National Friends of Libraries Week (October 16-22, 2011) with an invite to the entire community to demonstrate its love for libraries. On Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 4-5:30pm, everyone is urged to visit their island's legislature grounds with a book for our lawmakers to "SOL" - Support Our Libraries - and indicate that we need well-staffed, well-equipped libraries with convenient hours to serve the public.
